ELECTROSANNE FESTIVAL 2009

Artist of the week:

Addictive TV ( UK )

Described so eloquently as 'next level shit' by Grandmaster Flash, when they supported the great man in San Francisco, Addictive TV are certainly that. Known for their innovation in remixing films, the British act are trail-blazers in the art of audio/video sampling. Praised by the likes of Goldie, Jeff Mills, Stereo MC’s and Karl Bartos from Kraftwerk, Addictive TV are a total audiovisual experience driven by their film remixes and video cut-ups. Performing internationally, criss-crossing the art and music worlds, Addictive TV have wowed audiences at both film and music festivals alike from the San Francisco In’l Film Festival to the UK’s Glastonbury Festival. They’ve played in over 50 countries, and in venues as diverse as the bfi IMAX cinema in London to the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), as well as headlining some of the best clubs on the international circuit, from Tokyo to Dubai. In 2006 Addictive TV became the first artists to ever officially remix a Hollywood movie, creating the award winning web viral for US studio New Line
Cinema, remixing the Antonio Banderas film Take The Lead. They’ve since created remixes for nearly all the major Hollywood studios, including Universal, 20th Century Fox and Paramount, for films such as ‘Iron Man’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘Fast & Furious’. In 2008 they broke new ground remixing the Olympics live for television and most recently, for computer games studio Electronic Arts, they remixed “The Sims3”, one of the best selling video games of all time.
